RLC President Dorothea Taylor Bogert presented State Representative Melony Bell with the Florida League of Cities Legislative Appreciation Award. Bell was honored at the December Membership Dinner in Haines City. In accepting the award, Bell spoke fondly of her service in both city and county government. Prior to being elected to the Florida House of Representatives, she served on the Fort Meade City Council and Polk County Board of County Commissioners. Since being elected to the Florida House in 2018, Representative Bell has been a strong advocate for local government. Representative Sam Killebrew was previously awarded an Appreciation Award in June. The Ridge League congratulates both state representatives for their continued support of local government and “Home Rule” initiatives.
