Winter Haven Membership Dinner

The City of Winter Haven played host to the October 2025 Ridge League of Cities Membership Dinner.  Mayor Nathanel Birdsong, the Winter Haven Commission and City Staff planned for an excellent evening with Nora Mayo Hall decorated in a beautiful Starlight Soiree theme.  The Catering Company of Winter Haven prepared a delicious dinner, and Mike Harris provided the entertainment.  The 258 reservations were the most for any Ridge League dinner hosted in the city.  Nineteen of the twenty-four Ridge League cities and towns were represented.  The winner of the City Traveling Trophy was the Town of Dundee with 24 attendees.   Chastain Skillman | DCCM was the winner of the Associate Member Traveling Trophy with 12 in attendance.  Members and guests were asked to bring an unwrapped toy for the 2025 Toys for Tots campaign.  A record number of toys were collected.   Thank you, Ridge League!  The Guest Speaker for the evening was City of Cocoa Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director Jonathan Lamm.  Chief Lamm addressed the challenges of our firefighters dealing with lithium-ion batteries and other hazardous materials.

In 2024, the October dinner in Winter Haven was cancelled due to Hurricane Milton striking Florida’s West Coast.  Even though this year’s event saw some rain, it did not prevent the Ridge League from having a nice, well-attended, and informative meeting.  Thank you Winter Haven!
