The City of Bartow and Mayor Tanya Tucker welcomed over two hundred elected officials, Associate Members, and guests to the Ridge League of Cities March Membership Dinner. Traditionally, the March dinner is held in Bartow with a Saint Patrick’s Day theme and dinner, with many guests wearing shamrocks, green clothing or green accessories. The Ridge League Speaker Series continued with a program focusing on the host city’s innovative strategies and solutions for better governance. The membership heard from Mr. Gary Carey, National Sales Director for NEOGOV, a leading US business focusing on human resources (HR) software solutions. NEOGOV currently is under contract with the City of Bartow and spoke on the innovative ways that Bartow incorporated HR into its strategic planning. He spoke specifically on the importance of HR in the overall performance of city operations. Mr. Carey also serves as the mayor for the City of Walker, Michigan.
