The Ridge League of Cities held their 2026-2027 Organizational Meeting on September 3, 2026, at Nora Mayo Hall in Winter Haven.  Winter Haven Mayor Brian Yates was sworn in as Ridge League President by the new Florida League of Cities (FLC) President Mark Franks.   Franks also administered the Oath of Office to the 2026-2027 Board of Directors including Vice President Neil Devine (Mulberry), Secretary Keith Nadaskay (Wauchula), and Treasurer Cory Coler (Eagle Lake).  The attendance for the event was one of the best at 275 city officials, Associate Members, and guests.  The traditional traveling trophies were awarded to the City of Haines City, and to Associate Member, Citizens Bank and Trust.

The City of Winter Haven hosted a beautiful evening based on an “Italian Countryside” theme.  Florida League of Cities President Mark Franks was also the guest speaker for the evening.  President Franks congratulated the RLC on being an active league and challenged the membership to stay engaged with the FLC.  He thanked those RLC members that have served and continue to serve on the various committees and officer positions of the Florida League and spoke of the importance of advocacy on the property tax issues being discussed in Tallahassee. 

Twenty Ridge League of Cities officials were recognized as “Home Rule Heroes” for their advocacy efforts during the 2026 Legislative Session in Tallahassee.  FLC Legislative Advocate Matt Singer presented the officials with certificates and lapel pins.

The City of Winter Haven played host to the September Ridge League Membership Dinner Meeting.  Nora Mayo Hall was beautifully decorated for the evening.  Thank you Winter Haven!
