The Annual Conference of the Florida League of Cities was held August 15-17, 2024 at the Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, FL.  The Ridge League had eighty-one (81) local officials in attendance representing twenty-one (21) of the twenty-four (24) RLC Member Cities.   The conference is an opportunity for municipal officials and senior staff to enhance leadership skills, learn from municipal experts, share ideas with peers, discuss strategies for Florida’s future and discover the latest products and services for municipal governments.  Ridge League President Morris West conducted the final RLC Board Meeting of 2023-2024 during the Local and Regional League Breakfast Meeting held on the final day of the conference.  Special thanks to the Central Florida Development Council, Chastain Skillman Engineers, and Duke Energy for their sponsorship of the breakfast.

Arcadia Council Member Luis Velasco, Zolfo Springs Commissioner Sara Schofield, and Frostproof Public Works Director Josh Turner were recognized at recipients of the Ridge League Conference Scholarships.  A $1,000 stipend is paid to the recipient’s cities to help offset the costs of sending these first-time attendees to the FLC Annual Conference.
