The Ridge League of Cites is honored to welcome the new Florida League of Cities President and Shalimar Mayor Mark Franks. Franks has been actively involved with the Florida League of Cities for many years. Throughout his tenure with FLC, he has served on the League’s Board of Directors and contributed to several key committees, including the Municipal Administration Committee, Nominating Committee, Advocacy Committee, and Federal Action Strike Team (FAST) Committee. He is also a multiple-year recipient of the League’s Home Rule Hero Award. 

A lifelong resident of Okaloosa County, Franks comes from a family whose roots in the area date back to the 1930s. His commitment to public service extends beyond his hometown; he previously served as President of the Northwest Florida League of Cities and continues to serve on the board of the Okaloosa County League of Cities. Professionally, Franks has spent more than 25 years in the financial services industry and holds both an undergraduate and a Master of Business Administration degree from Troy University.    Welcome President Franks to the Ridge Leageue!
