The City of Lakeland hosted a “Spring Fling” on April 11, 2024, and invited the Ridge League of Cities.  Our April Membership Dinner Meeting was held at the RP Funding Center.   It was a great evening and one of the RLC’s best attended.  A total of 266 were in attendance including 158 City Members, a record 83 Associate Members, and 25 other guests of the Ridge League.  Nineteen (19) of the twenty-four (24) RLC member cities were represented.  In addition to the host city of Lakeland with 17 in attendance, those cities in double digits included Arcadia and Dundee both with 10 each, Haines City (14), Davenport (17), and Mulberry, winner of the traveling trophy with eighteen (18).  Congratulations to Mulberry!

We had 23 Associate Members represented and Chastain Skillman won the Associate Member traveling trophy with sixteen (16) team members in attendance.  We appreciate all our Associate Members!

Representatives from the Florida League of Cities were in attendance to present eighteen (18) Ridge League officials with their 2024 FLC Home Rule Hero Awards.

A definite highlight of the evening was the naming of the five (5) 2024 Ridge League of Cities Vocational/Trade Scholarship winners.  It was very special to hear their essays and career plans.  Best Wishes to you All!

Our guest speaker for the evening was Ft. Walton Beach Police Chief Robert Bage.  Chief Bage gave a very informative presentation on Sustainable Code Compliance.  He discussed how to build successful code enforcement strategies, how to avoid or mitigate obstacles, and how to enhance the overall benefits for the community leading to a more robust code compliance program.  Thank you, Chief Bage!

It was a wonderful evening.   Thank you, Lakeland!
